Round two of the SCAFL kicked off last Sunday at Heritage Park in Irvine. With each team fighting for position, the games were hard fought on all sides.
Riverside Raiders vs Orange County Bombers
It was always going to be a hard game for the Raiders coming up against OC, but after a big loss last week the Raiders came out with all guns blazing. In the first quarter both teams were hard at the ball. It was a fast passed game, with not much in it OC pulled out a slight advantage through the play of some of their vets.
OC went into the second quarter up by 2 goals, and Riverside was looking to stay close.
With the scoring going back and forward neither team giving an inch, two pin point taps to Willi helped the Raiders scored 2 goals in 45 sec. But OC still came back at the end of the quarter with a goal to go into the long break with a 4 goal advantage.
To start the third quarter Riverside were looking to close the gap with the first goal through the true boot of Dazza, but that was it for them as OC would control the rest of the quarter kicking 7 goals thanks to the straight kicks of Hershy, Kirin, and Kelly. That would have OC pulling out a big lead of more then 9 goals.
With the game looking to be in the Bombers hands and the Raiders running out of legs OC were intent on putting there stamp on the game, by pilling on the goals. With another 8 goals in the last quarter, the Raiders just ran out of answers.
