The OC Bombers are pleased to announce that their own Beth Nollenberger (pictured front row center after a recent co-ed game in San Diego) has been selected in the US Freedom National squad as they prepare for their annual USA vs Canada match in August. Beth travelled to Minneapolis recently for the USAFL Training Camp and tryouts, playing at center half forward for the "A" team in a match and gaining selection as a result of her performance.
Since joining the Bombers last year Beth has become a real part of the club, training with the boys and improving hugely as a result. She even got to pull on the Bombers jumper in the recent OC vs Vegas game and showed how far she has come in the last 12 months. Selection in the US squad is just reward, and hopefully Beth will get to pull on a Freedom jumper next.
In addition to her work on the field, Beth has been busy ressurecting the first ever US women's footy side, the brilliantly named Orange County Bombshells. She has organized couple of co-ed games with San Diego during the SCAFL season, and a combined women's side is planning to travel to the San Francisco tournament later in the year.
