A good win
Tuesday 24th of April, 2012

The Jets hosted round 5 of the SCAFL on Sunday and recorded a comfortable 72 point win over the San Diego Lions. It was a very good result for the group that took the field, with the side missing several key players it could have been a danger game but every player contributed in a very even performance.

Three players had outstanding games and it is very hard to draw a line through them for best on ground honors. RJ Meza was unstoppable through the midfield and was clearly the best player in the first half. Jon Collins took on the ruck duties but it was his work around the ground that was most noticable, his best game for the club so far. Steve Stampbach is loving his role at full back and improves every week, his strong marking with a slippery ball deep in defense was a real highlight.

It was a very rounded game from the Jets, with the veterans all playing well including an entertaining game from OC captain KB Nelson in the unfamiliar role of full forward. The development of young rookies and 2-3 year players continues, with youngsters Jake Cline and Bryson Mounts showing good signs.

The Jets next face the Sharks in San Pedro on Sunday 4/29 in the first match up since the 2011 grand final.
