FIELD: Oval field with goals at either end.  Metro - 110 yards long x 70 yards wide (approx.)

GOALS / SCORING: 4 Posts at either end, equally spaced. 7 yards apart. Middle (6pts.), Outside (1pt.)

GAME LENGTH: Metro games are 15 minute quarters x 4 = 60 minutes. Action is continuous and free-flowing.

OBJECTIVE: To control and advance the ball towards your team's scoring goal by way of running, handball or kicking and then kicking the ball through the goals without the ball being touched to score points.

TACKLING: Players do not usually wear padding of any sort. The objective of tackling is to bring your opponent to the ground without allowing them to dispose or pass the ball by way of kicking or handball. Therefor winning a turnover.  It is a penalty to tackle above the shoulders, below the knees or directly into the back of an opposing player.

HANDBALL: Throwing the ball is a penalty, so the ball must be hit with a player's fist in order to pass or advance the ball.

MARK: When the ball is kicked further than 15 yards (approx.) and is cleanly caught by any player it is called a "mark". The player who catches the ball gets the equivalent of a free kick from the spot of the catch.

POSITIONS: Similar to soccer, the players will position themselves in forward, mid and back lines. There are additional specialty positions in the mid field as well.
